What is in our meat? Is a question almost anyone should be asking themselves today. The problem that we are currently facing is the way our meat is produced. Cows are being placed with hundreds of other cows bacteria can be easily passed. People get sick off o the bacteria that  created through the cows or the factory producing that set of meat.

Technology advances in the past few decades has increased the pounds per beef that we get verses what we use to get in the past. New technology like, Direct-fed microbial (DFM) helps improve performance of cattle. With DFM production can move at a quicker and faster rate. Antibiotics are also used for the cattle to help them registrar what they eat and get the nutrients that are needed.

Intensive beef farming allows the cheaper production of beef. In addition, it increases the profits of farmers. A health benefit is that greater control of the cattle is achieved, producing leaner beef and reducing the amount of diseases and health problems. 

Beef cattle have the potential to spread disease, environment becomes damaged due to heavy machinery being used. increase in drugs and hormones which may be passed to consumers.

Organizations

While lowering the cost of the meat through different ways of producing it, different dangers are now in effect. Bacteria is growing through the new way of production of cattle. Though this way it is more cost efficient. While producing a larger amount of meat now more than ever it is also effect people world wide.

The National Cattlemen's Beef Association is a large group of people who support the movement of where the beef industry is going. The producing  of meat is a major part of what they believe in. The association invest interest in protecting the environment and producing the best for their consumers.
